My nose is curved, i.e. the partition between the nostrils is curved on one side. Is this rare? Any treatment?

It causes breathing problems. I have to sleep only on one side to
allow respiration.

That's what called a "deviated septum", and it's not at all that uncommon. Only treatment for that that I'm aware of is surgery, sometimes referred to as "a nose job".

Two cyst's? or a bump under nipples (both on either side)?

ok i had a ultrasound a month ago and got one checked out (before the other one came) and saw the doctor and all and he said its a hormonell thing and that its fine but then i saw a specilist and he said the same thing so i left it alone but about 2 days ago i got another small one under the other nipple im 13 and are very healthy and i dont think it could be cancer but im a bit concerned please help best answer will be chosen promptly im also a guy so dont go saying its like breasts lol any help appreciated!

Actually, my brother had this exact same thing and the doctor told him it was nothing to worry about also. He was about your age when he found them and they eventually went away. I believe the doctor told him it was hormonal as well. You have already seen two doctors who said it was nothing to worry about. If you are still concerned you could always get another opinion. Honestly though, if it was me (and I worry about EVERYTHING!), I would relax.

You shouldn't worry much as the specialist's has physically examined u okayed the scan. With some medication the cysts would subside, if its some hormonal problem. U need to be more observant if there are more cysts developing in one area, next to each other. An enlarged cyst = Tumour, if non malignant, if malignant = Cancer. Take care!
yer thats normal mate... when i was 14 i had the same thing n thought i had cancer lol but doctor sed it was completely normal for boys to have that... all it is, is breast tissue forming due to hormones getting confused and will not get any larger just recied with age. im16 now and i have nothing their anymore....so stop worrying its fine

There is a condition called venous stasis. This is basically where the little valves in the veins in your legs stop working properly and the blood begins to kind of pool in your lower extremities. It causes pain and swelling. It is usually relieved when you sit down for a while. If you do have this condition, which needs to be confirmed by a physician, there are several treatment options - from wearing a special kind of hosiery all the way to having the veins in your legs replaced with your own properly working veins from some other place in your body. It could also be caused from fluid retention but you need to have this confirmed by a doctor too. There are special medications that can alleviate this fluid retention. I hope you get some help soon because it sounds like you are in considerable pain.
It sounds like you have varicose veins, which aren't always visible. Ankle swelling is usually a sign of fluid retention. Try a mild diuretic like Aquaban, and when you're sitting at home try and put your feet up - if it is fluid retention you should notice that your feet are much less swolen first thing on a morning. You don't say how old you are, but it might be an idea to have a chat with your doctor about it anyway.

What do you expect this cream to do for you? You have to go to the doctor to have genital warts removed, or burned off. They don't go away with cream, and they are not curable.

I have woken this morning to find my right, upper eyelid twitching uncontrollably. Why?

i got them put on about 1 year ago and boy can i tell you i was scared! i thought that i would look ugly and people wouldnt like me, and its ok to think this at first. but really, its no big deal. i havent lost my popularity at all! there are so many kids these days with braces, and alot with bad teeth, so for one, be grateful you are getting them because im sure there are kids out there who want them.
yes you can go back to school, honestly dont worry about it. if anyone pays you out, just say "well at least i can afford them!" and also be confident about them because that way people will admire you for it.
to be honest, it does hurt the tinest bit. lets put it this way; its uncomfortable but not painful. they will feel a bit weird at first, but you will get used to them and it fixes your teeth very quickly too.

just imagin how good you will look once you get them off!

No lies. Getting them on was fine (just tasted gross) Getting them tightened Hurt like hell. the first week i woke up crying because f the pain and i have a high pain thresh hole. But that also depends on how bad your teeth are as mine had to be turned around and pulled in alot. Get a rubber toy (baby toy) to choo while you sleep the presure helps alot. your dentist will tell you alot of information and tips, follow them.
Keep aspirin or tylenol around. You probably can't just carry such things at school, but see what you can do, check at the nurse's office, etc. cause it may not hurt much to have them put on, but every time you go for a tightening, they will. And you're gonna want some pain meds. every four hours, almost every time.

when i got braces when i was younger, as far as i remember it didnt hurt. maybe feel alittle uncomfortable at first meaning that ur not used to having them in ur mouth and it takes time to get used to BUT AS FAR AS PAIN OR ANYTHING IT DOES NOT HURT .

Breakfast before the gym?

started going to the gym just wondering if i should eat before i go i get to the gym at 9.30 in morning so am not really that hungry but ive heard a good breakfast is important but do not want a big breakfast before i go as i might feel bloated would a banana be ok i always have a warm glass of water as soon as i get up any suggestions plz

How common?

is it to get a negative test result using a home pregnancy test? I took one earlier this after noon only to get a negative result.

My period is about 12 days late, my nipples are sore, I felt a bit sick last week like I was getting the flu, but it would come and go, but I also just got over a cold, does having a cold affect missing your period or give you any other pregnancy like symptoms?

I know sometimes it's better to take the test in the morning with your first pee, but I'm just wondering how common it is to get negative results with home pregnancy test...

Also, is having a constant slight headache a symptom of pregnancy?

All tests everywhere cannot and never will be 100% accurate. Most pregnancy tests are over 90% accurate. Generally the cheaper pregnancy tests are less accurate than expensive ones but this is only in the realms of a few percent.

It also depends when you take the pregnancy test. Hcg is not detectable in the urine until several weeks after implantation. If you had unprotected sex less than 2-3weeks ago you'll need to wait until 3 weeks has passed and then repeat the test.

Otherwise, the most accurate pregnancy tests can be done at your doctors or a sexual health clinic.

You cant rely on 'symptoms' of pregnancy to confirm pregnancy as everyone is different everyone experiences different sensations, and they are always vague signs which could be down to anything including stress.

Will i get taller?

I turned 17 on january, in my junior year. i am between 5'4" and 5'5" but i just say 5'5" to make myself feel taller =). my mom is about 5'4" or 3" and my dad is 5'5" or 6".
from what i hear my mom is pretty normal and my dad is short for their respective genders, but i just want to know if there is any chance i will hit at least 5'7". i dont think ive hit a growth spurt because i havent noticed anything drastic and my uncle said he grew like crazy in college.

Hi, I have the same problem, I think I am too short to I'm 18 and 5'11. Don't get me wrong I'm happy with my height but I would like to reach 6'. I get told that I may still grow, its probably the same for you, you may have a growth spurt. Exercise is a good idea, I do stretching exercises every night, you should try it. Men can keep on growing until about 21 however everyone is different, unique. The fact that your parents are small does stack the odds against you however you may grow taller, but try not to worry, get plenty of sleep and maintain good posture and do stretching exercise, you will find loads on line. How come I have nightmares often?

I don't know why but I have nightmares every other night. Nothing really bad has ever happened to me but I can't seem to stop having nightmares. There is one about the end of the world that I have often that makes me wake up in a cold sweat. Is this a disorder, can I have medication for this, or can I just stop these nightmares by myself?
Nightmares are just images and things mixed together in your mind and projected while you sleep. Also, things you see, hear, or smell while you sleep or right before you go to sleep can influence what you dream about. If you maybe light some nice smelling candle or spray a nice air freshener before you go to bed it will help. You can even try watching a funny movie or listening to peaceful music. But, sometimes people have bad dreams and it just cant be helped. So, I hope that I helped in some way. GOOD LUCK!
you are having nightmares becuase soemthing happend to you a dramatic change that did tramatize you even if you dont realize it its something that happend and was outta your control so that is how you react to it and boom you ahve nightmares they will go away eventually get out more and have fun!
they could be caused by meds you are already on---or your dream can mean something traumatic that just happened in your life....get a psychiatrist and they will help you........lot of good sleep meds out there that you won't remember a thiing when you wake up......see a psych doc.
I'm 27, and it has taken a long time to become aware of nightmares. Try to train yourself to get out of them. Be aware that it is not real, and nothing can cause harm or pain. If you are still in it, confront whatever is scaring you, and it will go away.

I love that she's still got a real body in Hollywood rather than being a stick thin size 0. I know she's a US4/6 (she said it in an interview). I’m a US size 7/8. But Katie is heaps taller than me, she's about 170cm and I'm about 162cm.

Can anyone tell me how I can get to her size (US4/6)? Also, how can I achieve a toned and sculpted body like hers but still have that womanly shape? I don’t want to become a total stick insect.
if you have low self esteem then be warned that perhaps it is not because of your perceived body flaws, but because of something deeper so loosing weight might not solve the problem. However you seem to have a good head on your shoulders anyway. I think that it would take you about 6 months to get a figure close to that which is not that long really. A half an hour of cardio paired with a half an hour of strength training 5 days per week should do it. Try jogging for cardio and then maybe get a strength training for women book at the book store or google strength training for women. Good luck :)

Well first of all I must say that you look fine. Don't over concern your self with losing weight. Its not a good idea. Try to always stay positive with yourself and compliment what you like about your body. If you really want to get toned I would recommend getting a trainer. You need to get a good muscle toning work out a long with a cardio workout. Doing different muscles everyday is the best way to go about this. Usually those type of videos don't do much and using the bike alone isn't best. You should invest in a gym membership instead. Also make sure your on a healthy diet with plenty of grains and vegetables. If you work on toning your body you will have a sculpted body. Usually people who are stick skinny starve themselves. Working out is what is really going to help you reach your goal.

There is always surgery but I saw on TV this girl who was like you...she was pretty but went for surgery. She lost a lot of weight in her hips but also went from a C to an A in the chest. You have to be very careful with your body you know. Your DNA and something called a fat thermastat in your brain tries to keep your body at a certain level. So just try to get with people that know a lot about it before you do too much on your own. You dont' want to hurt your body. Also, you might want to check out to see if you have something called body dismorphic disorder. That is when a person, usually a women, is beautiful but they do not see themselves that way. No matter what they do they are never satisfied with how they look. BDD, I believe is a psychological and phisiological condition. Just something to think about. But my best advice is just to try to be happy with who you are because even beautiful women don't stay that way very long. Neither do us men.
You are cute the way you are but if you want to lose weight hit the gym. Instead of doing bike try the eliptical or the treadmill. You will burn more calories. try to eat healthy no junk food or sugars. Try doing some sit ups to get a little toned don't over do it. Just watch your diet and make sure you jog helps burn lots of calories. My ex use to go to classes called cardio kickboxing she thined out and got a lil more toned when she did it. Self esteem, however, comes from inside and not from looking good. You need to find the good things about yourself and further develop them, confront what you find to be your weaknesses and find ways to turn them around. Having a nice physique will turn heads, but if you feel like an old hat in an old box, getting a new box ( a svelte physiue) without attempting to make yourself a new hat is just an old hat in a new box....not much point in that, is there?

I could be just a big pimple? Sometimes if jeans or pants are too tight a pimple can develop because heat and moisture gets trapped under the clothing and can't circulate. Bathing the area every night will help stop them from developing.
But it sounds like you don't think it is.
The other side to this is a genital herpes sore. If you have been in contact with an infected person who is in the middle of an outbreak, you are at risk. There is a blood test that you can get that will determine if you are infected and now there is a course of treatment of pills to take for it.
It could be an ingrown hair if it is in that region. Just put a dab on antibiotic ointment on it and it should be okay. If it does not heal or still leaks fluid after a few days, be sure to tell your Mom and see what she thinks.

Planned Parenthood and Birth Control?

Hi, I went to planned parenthood to get a pap test done in 10/7. At the time they asked if I wanted birthcontrol pills and I told them no. I would like to get on birth control now. Will I have to have another exam? Oh, and I am moving to another state, will they be able to transfer my records to the PPH near me?
A pap is only needed once a year, but they will likely require a pregnancy test. They will give you enough to get to October when your pap is due/

And, yes, they will transfer your record and prescription. In 2001, I moved from Washington State to New York State and did exactly that.
Having been to a PPH before I can tell you that they will give you any type of birth control that you need, they will actually just educate you on the proper way to use it/let you know the differences of the birth control, and give you information about what changes to expect. Aside from the educating they might take a pregnancy test just to make sure you're not pregnant. Let them know you're moving and they can transfer your file.
They might not make you have another pap but they will require you to have an office visit. I used to get bc there and when I wanted to switch to the patch they made me come in for an office visit.

Weight loss. i've stopped shedding pounds.?

i am 31. i've lost 24 pounds in a month and a half, and since this anonymous, (:))i am now 225. i'm 5'8, and would like to be 150. I've stopped shedding pounds. it is very important i losre weight, because my liver is fatty. In fact, my doc put me on pills. but i'm not losing ne more. i eat like 1000, one day, and 1200 the next.... what do i do?.. or ok, youre not me. what would you do?

Oatmeal oranges egg whites and milk are fat burning foods.

Eat oatmeal in the morning with one or 2 egg whites. I boil the eggs and just eat the whites but you can do so as you like. And a glass of milk. It doesnt have to be a big glass if you dont like to drink straight milk. I put extra in my oatmeal.

Try snacking on fruits and veggies. For lunch which is my big meal because i dont like to eat a lot closer to bedtime to give my body more time to burn it off. I eat chicken on the grill. With my favorite bbq sauce or some type of flavoring. I change it up now with fish too. You can do pork once in a while as well. Grill or sometimes you can bake but dont fry. Try to avoid red meats most of the time. For a side do with your favorite veggies try corn on the cob. You can do potatoes but not every day.

Snack again with fruit veggies. Also try yogurt i eat Activia it really help regulate you. Try to have an orange a day as well.

For dinner go with a salad with low fat dressing. You can buy grilled chicken slices or tuna if you want to spice it up.

Note for cravings. I keep fat free pudding in the house chocholate and vanilla so when i crave something sweet its there. Also i use natural pop corn it comes with butter and believe me it tastes the same. But keep these snacks close and easy. For example i love fresh carotts but i get lazy and dont want to peel them so i grab something easier. I now cut and peel them and put them in baggies in my fridge so i can just grab them and eat.

this is my diet hopefully it'll help you too. Also try doing some cardio like just walking for a half hour a day.
1. dont bank on the words 'fast' 'quick'....to stay safe,you shoudnt lose beyond 3 pounds of fat per week

2. start brisk walking 1-2 hrs a day

3. drink only water,lowfat milk and lots of green tea

4. severely limit carbs n fat but eat lean proteins and veggies very well..make sure you eat a good breakfast!

5. do lots of pilates/yoga/strength training to get the best from your other efforts

6. get a dog or 2 if you find your walking routine boring..or if you are at a gym,experiment all forms of cardio available and stick to all that you like

7. always push yourself n never give up!but get enough rest too...

8. be smart when eating out or at events/functions

9. dont trust myths like "no food after 7pm"...you have to stay nourished to lose fat,..the best you can do if you are scared to eat is perhaps
drink a glass of ice chocolate lowfat milk mixed with a tsp of instant softened oatmeal...

10. Stay focused on your goal and God bless you...

well, im happy that you have realistic idea of your self. Eating and working out are key. people expect to shed 20 pounds in no time flat without any work. you can't just cure a life time of bad habbits in two weeks. if you go on a extreame diet your get burned out and so does your body. just be the best you can be. eat right and take care of your self. you don't have far to go. life is too short to to hate your self. whats fun is i set up goal weigh and every 5 pounds i loose i set up a reward. 1m 145 and my goal weight is 120. I want to loose 25 pounds in three months. when i reach it im going on a jean shopping spree.

Your exercise regime is a good start; cut down on calories a bit and lose a few pounds. I don't think that you will ever be a runway model, but you don't look bad now and could even look better.
Get Wii Fit, also just keep doing toning exercises, watch what you eat and make sure you don't stress alot.

I cant lose belly fat!?

Heres my problem. I work out everyday for at least an hour. I bike, do crunches, walk etc. My stomach has remained constant and i cant seem to lose weight off of it, even with crunches. Im going on a month of doing this and it really isnt working. I would also like alternate foods i can take to school that are quick, easy, and good. I am 16, male, and weigh 205 lbs.

Zeke I feel your pain, I was in and sometimes find myself in the same boat! Habits are hard to break.

But what I have honestly learned through experience is that it varies per person. Some people have bodies that respond well to a certain type of diet, exercise, whatever...
In the end, consistency and patience are key. They go hand in hand too. I found out what worked for me in an odd way.

I was doing some construction work for an orphanage and by the end of it, I was 10 pounds lighter.. in 10 days! Mind you that's not safe, to lose so much weight and fat in such a short time.

Details... I looked back and realized that it was because I did constant work for a long period of time (for me, it's longer workouts) AND all the food I ate (and I ate a serious amount of food) was mostly natural. Mostly meats, veggies, breads and rice. Fruits and veggies are quick and easy, nuts for protein, again quick and easy. Lots of water, water keeps your body running and hunger controlled.
Always ate breakfast and all my other meals at a consistent time. Woke up and slept around the same time.

What worked for me might not for you. Motivate yourself and you are off to a great start.

One other thing I learned is that crunches do not result in a thinner stomach, in the end by building muscle underneath your belly, you actually push out your gut a bit more. But keep it up because you're building muscle, the more muscle you build, the more your metabolism is at work, and THAT is what will help you burn away the fat to reveal the sixpack.
Cardio burns calories on the spot, betters your heart and endurance to do more. Weights will build muscle to help you do more and keeps your metabolism going stronger long after you've stopped (cardio only for the moment and shortly after).

Anyways, I hope that helps. May not be the most helpful answer, but i just wanted to encourage you and share with you a bit of personal experience.
It sounds like you are eating bad foods. even if you workout for an hour a day, and eat a lot of bad foods, along with soda, you won't notice much of a difference. the best key to losing fat is going on a good diet.
Burn more calories than you eat.....I have the same problem.....I keep trying tho.......you should too.

What should my ideal weight be?

okay so i've just recently joined up at a women's gym, i have an asessment tomorrow where they measure me weigh me set a goal... enywaiz i wanted to go in with a bit of an idea.
I'm 5 feet 2 inches weigh around 67 kilos. I was thinking of getting down to 47 kilos or would that be too thin? What should i weigh? any help is appreciated, thnx! :)xx

2. start brisk walking 1-2 hrs a day

3. drink only water,lowfat milk and lots of green tea

5. do lots of pilates/yoga/strength training to get the best from your other efforts

6. get a dog or 2 if you find your walking routine boring..or if you are at a gym,experiment all forms of cardio available and stick to all that you like

8. be smart when eating out or at events/functions

My nose won't stop bleeding?

i was hit in the face with a soccor ball flying the other day and my nose bled for a while but it keeps on constantly bleeding for 2 days. My nose doesn't feel broken but it is very soar. Could it possibly be a broken nose? What can i do to stop the bleeding?
I broke my nose and did not know it for a week... go to a doctor. In the meantime to stop bleeding keep your chin up, look up at the ceiling for two minutes at a time. don't load your nose with cotton or tissues it won't work. If bleeding presists call 911 good luck pal.

It's likely to need cauterising to stop the bleeding. Go to see your doc. It's not an emergency if you've lived with it for two days. It could be broken, or the cartilage may just have been displaced. Your doc will advise and, if necessary, make sure it's going to heal straight (unless you'd prefer a bent nose).

Because of medical reasons my doctor has put me on the mini-pill instead of the full contraceptive pill. I'm curoius to know how many people have fallen pregnant while using it. I have been told that as long as i take it as per the instructions it should be as effective as the normal pill.

Okay-- so I was 3 days late on my period and thought seriously that I wasn't going to have one. Well it came yesterday but is brown and kinda light? A whole lot lighter than normal? Okay, here's what I think. The pill can have anything happen, nothing is 100 percent and you can always have spotting, etc. Have you had sex and had him finish in you? Do you have REASON to believe you were pregnant? The first problem I see is that after ONLY 3 days of you missing it, you "seriously thought" you were pregnant. Yikes! You probably psyched your body out so much that your body can THINK it is pregnant...crazy, but true. How old are you? You could have some sort of blood sugar problem (diabetes, etc.), which would cause constant peeing, diff food choices, nausea/vomiting (with too much sugar in your blood this happens) as well as contant fatigue. If you're always peeing, you're probably always thirsty. If you're always thirsty, you're drinking a lot. If you're drinking a lot, this will lead to water weight making your pants kinda snug.

Hey, get a preg test just incase, regardless of if you have spotting or not. You can get ones that are less than 20 bucks and can detect event a day or so BEFORE your "missed period".

You do have symptoms of being pregnant. If you have been taking the birth control correctly, you are probably not, however, if you have missed days then you may very well be pregnant.
If you think you are pregnant, you should discontinue your birth control until you see a doctor, also, abstain from sex! Buy a cheap pregnancy test, and find out for sure.
it might just be your bc or you can be prego the best thing to do is take a test and check with your doc a ept can come out negitive but really be positive so make sure you talk to your doc about it he will be able to tell you if its your bc or what the case may be.... also keep track of your symptoms so u can inform your doc better hope the best for you!!

I do not know how long you have been on your birth control but it can change your hormones, in the beginning and after you have been on the same kind for a while....not everyone reacts the same to every kind of pill or bc product. Birth control (depending on type) can also cause weight gain sometimes. If you are certain that you are not pregnant (take a home pregnancy test), then continue till you see the Dr.....if you are pregnant or not comfortable with continuing them, then stop, but you will need to use protection if you are having sex.....condoms + spermicide can be effective birth control and prevention of catching STD's
So: you are not pregnant but you are taking new birth control. So it must be the birth control. Keep taking it. If you decide to stop, don't have sex! The symptoms will go away after your body gets used to the pill, though. Until then, eat frequently. It will be unpleasant when it comes up, but food gets absorbed quickly so you only throw up about half. So eat twice as often and you won't starve. Drink lots of water!

Different levels work for different people for a number of reasons. All doses are equally effective at preventing pregnancy.

Lower dose pills may have less side effects (like nausea, weight gain, etc.) but may not regulate periods and/or cause break through bleeding throughout the month. Higher doses may have more side effects, but may better regulate (or even eliminate) periods.

Women have different reactions to all hormone levels, so it is hard to say how any given pill would effect any given woman. Most clinicians start with a low-mid dose pill and then change based on the patient's feedback.

I know it is hard, but it really shouldn't (and doesn't) matter what other people think. It has taken me over 30 years to realize this. I was teased in school because my nose is larger than the "average" persons. But now I have learned to accept myself as being unique. I also tend to accentuate the better features I have such as eyes and lips. Do things that make you happy and forget everyone else. An added bonus is you will fell more confident with yourself.
The people who told you you were ugly knew that this would get to you and it worked. They are obviously mean hateful people and their opinion should mean nothing.
If looks are all you feel you have then you are in a sad situation. But that isn't all you have and you know it. There are many unknown ways that you will influence others in the future. You will discover talents you did not know you had. You may someday be a mother, wife, grandmother and make the world a better place. Hang in there. You have the world ahead of you to live for and many many adventures that you never dreamed would or could happen. Just keep your heart and your mind open.

By design they push or pull on your teeth to put them in a more proper position. The teeth will litterally move around .. and this is done while you are in your teen years because then the gums can adjust to the new spot and anchor the teeth in.

just tell him you have diabetes, there is nothing to be ashamed of. If he really likes you he will still ask you out with or without diabetes.
Just tell him that if something were to happen that you have diabetes and that he would need to let someone know. If your like me you can feel it coming on and know that you need to get something to eat or drink really quick to avoid this from happening. It's really not something that would harm your relationship with him. You never know he may have it also.

From what I can make out, you need to tell everyone you're with that you have diabetes.It is essential for your life.
Why would you not eat when necessary to pretend to some guy you do not have diabetes ? That's harming yourself and will cost $500+ for an ambulance ride.

Keep granola bars near for low blood sugar. They work good. The sugar gives you fast help and the grains give you long lasting help.

Yeah, understand your anxiety.

My suggestions:
1. Wear a tag around your neck. I believe paramedics are trained to look out for it read your condition(s) from there. There are medical companies that can give you a proper thing to put around your nectk
2. Carry with sugars. Drug store sells prepared sugars for emergency hypoglycemia. For myself I carry dried dates with me. Two to three dates chewed swallowed enough for me to recover. You will feel miserable as you get into hypoglycemia would go for it. Protect yourself. Just in csse. Actually if you look after yourself. Get treatment. Be dutiful. You would not even need this.
3. Dating skill. Yeah, no need to tell on the 1st few dates. Let it come naturally. Bring up the matter as the time comes.
4. Be more confident. Diabetes is not such a frightening condition. You do not just drop dead or comatose. There are signs you can learn to cope with it. Test your blood sugar reqularly learn your condition. Hypoglycemia symtomatic. You will feel weak and giddy before it's onset. Symtoms are giddyness, headache, tireness, confusion, slurry speech, lack of co-ordination, inability to think straight. These things come about long before a patient goes comatose. If unsure suck sweets. Or better yet eat your dates or raisins or some dried fruits. If you are near a cafe. Drink a glass of Milo. Your date wouldn't notice what you are doing.

Razor burn down there?

When i shave down there i always get razor burn! It itches like crazy and its embarrassing when swimming. Also, I'm always walking around trying to scratch the itch!

What can i do to make the Razor burn go go away? Prevent it from happening? Any products i should use?
You can try waxing. Or shaving with the way that your pubic hair grows.

The only way that I've ever been able to keep razor burn at bay is lotion a warm wash cloth.

i heard putting deoderant after works. Also, shave with the hair not against it and to help reduce the itch just dont itch it. i know its hard but dont, and after a while of shaving down there it will go away
I don't even think you should shave down there. It's not good for you. Thats why you get those burns, I mean an occasional shave is fine, but be careful, and only do the top!
Shave in the direction of the hair, instead of against. (The opposite of how you would shave your legs)
Try using an electric shaver. It's still almost as smooth and not nearly as much pain/itching.

Is there any way to force a family member into drug rehab in the state of Maryland?

I know that in Florida they have something called the Marchman Act and I was wondering if there is anything like that in Maryland. I have a VERY CLOSE family member who has gotten hooked on Crack cocaine and I am terrified for her and my whole family. She knows that she needs to go to rehab, but keeps stalling. Some of her excuses were valid, but those circumstances have long passed and there always seems to be a new excuse to delay her from getting help. I am losing my mind! I stress about this from the time I wake up until the time I go to bed. Her drug problem is tormenting me and the rest of my family! Is'nt there any way that a family member can have someone forced into treatment or at least evaluated? I know it can be done if someone is suicidal or homicidal, but what about for severe drug addiction?
In Maryland you can file an Emergency Evaluation Petition (EEP) and the person will be taken by the police to the hospital for examination and drug tests and she can be hospitalized. One of my family members killed himself recently in Maryland bc he couldn't get off crack, and the last I heard 1 in 4 crack users does it so I would really try to get her some help.
It depends on her age I think. I don't know too much about it, but keep on trying. Don't give them money or let them control you. Its hard to stay strong during this, but know and have faith she will get the help she needs. Pray, pray, pray. God bless you.

That's why it's good you had the tests done and you have the chance to change your diet now and prevent some of those complications. From personal experience I can tell you that it's not that difficult to lower your levels if you are consistent at each meal and follow the advice given to you at the doctor's. Also, eating high-fiber foods (oats for example) provides a special boost in fighting high fats.

Work out every other day. Your body needs time to recover or you are justt making it weaker. This is because when you weight train you break down the muscle and your body realizes it needs to be stronger so that won't happen again. Hae some protein such as a burger or chicken sandwich afterwards. Carbs in things like pasta would also be good. Don't use protein pills they are pretty much fakes and a waste of your money. Drink water beetween exercises on hot days. You sound pretty small for 18 so I suggest eating a litttle more or if you really are just natturally that small make sure to start out light on the weights. Unless you are competing eat whatever sugar you want, you will still get stronger, just not be a physicly healthy. If you don't have the time work out three days a week, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday but every other day which is basicly alternating 3 and 4 days a week would be best. dont bother with all the protein powder crap you can buy, at your age and weight combined your body prolly wouldnt metabolise it properly and you would be wasting money. the best thing to do is just work out every second or third day and eat meals that are healthy. try eat more meat and carbs bread,rice,pasta etc, than ususal but dont go over the top. when you start seeing yourself put on muscle then get more serious and look at a more specific diet. pushups suck, but are awesome for putting on muscle effectively as they work most muscle groups in the body and they dont take up too much of your time. i had a friend that went from steven hawking looking to pretty buff in 6 months of doing up to 300 pushups every few days. gd luk
You're pretty small right now. But if you're serious about this here's my suggestion.

Lift four days a week hitting every major muscle group once. Eat a lot of food, but make it healthy. Try to eat five or six smaller meals, instead of 2 or 3 large meals. Of your daily caloric intake, 25% should be protein (try for 1g protein / pound body mass), 50% should be carbs, and 25% should be from fat. Note that 1g protein, 1g carb has 4 calories, 1g fat has 9 calories. Do high intensity cardio at least a few times a week.

As for supplements, try GNC Whey Protein Isolate. Also, I've never used it but I've heard great things about NO-Xplode.

You most likely do need glasses. Just because you've had perfect vision in the past doesn't mean it will stay that way. You probably have an Astigmatism in your left eye (which would be the reason for the blur.) Yes, your eyes can have different perscriptions. But don't worry. Astigmatism isn't a bad thing. It just means that the lens of your eye isn't completely round. This could also be the reason for your troubles focusing. When you look with both eyes you combine the ability of each eye to see clearly. This is why you can see better with your right than your left.

According to weight loss experts, nutritionists, etc. you shouldn't lose more than 1 - 2 pounds per week. Losing more quickly usually leads to putting the pounds back on. I think eating small meals like five or six and watching your portion size is probably the best way to lose weight quickly. Also not eating after 6 pm is good. I decided to go running. I have never done this during my period because I am tired and nauseaus, but I figured I would try it. I ran one mile and then came back and I almost fainted when I got through the door. I am always tired during my period and nauseous and sometimes dizzy. I drank a lot of water before going and after, but still I thought excersising was suppose to help you during your period. It didn't make me feel any better. Is this normal?
It is wise to take it easy on days 1 and 2, or whatever your heaviest day(s) are. This doesn't mean don't exercise, but just don't do the all-out, beat yourself to death thing that you might otherwise do, unless you are an athlete and used to it.

If I were a runner, I might choose to go for a brisk walk instead. Yoga is good, but avoid the inverted asanas.
It is normal to be tired during your period and to be nauseous before your period comes but if your nauseous during your period you need to see a doctor. Also if you have a heavy period that could be causing your fatigue you might have anemia because of the heavy flow. Exercising before your period helps to reduce cramps that you might get during your period but it won't help with the nausea and the fact that you're tired. I suggest that you see a doctor.
Have you ever been tested for anemia? You sound like you have low blood iron right now and that would make you feel crummy during activities and your cycle.

I am anemic and love to run but I cannot when I am menstruating. I would rather do something better for my body and energy during this time like yoga. It will invigorate you and is much better for your stomach area.

Some suggestions for you: talk to your doctor about a CBC blood test, keep hydrating yourself, and run on off days of your cycle, yoga during the cycle. Oh yeah, nourish your body with a balanced diet.

Sound like you're low on iron. Do you take an iron supplement during your period? That helps a lot of women replace the iron they lose at that time. As always, talk to your GYN about this, there's a lot they can do to relieve your menopausal symptoms.

Whats wrong with me?

I think it is risky that your girlfriend might have some bacterial infectious disease. There might be bacteria present in the vagina and the penis that might be swallowed by your girlfriend when you shift from vaginal intercourse to oral sex. There's a lot of sexual fun but be careful.
If both of you are sure you don't have a STD, there's nothing wrong with going from vaginal to oral, and some women even are turned on by their taste.

I commend you for not doing anal...I really don't know why someone would want to...maybe I'll post a question about that...
Provided that neither of you have any STDs then you are fine to do oral, anal or vaginal in any order you like. Your hands are probably filled with more germs than her vagina and you wouldn't think twice about putting your fingers in her mouth, would you?

I've been sexually active for 35 years it's never harmed me in any way. Many women hate kissing men after the men gave them oral sex wouldn't think of oral sex after vaginal sex. Other women desire it. As for me, it's not my favourite I don't really like it, but from time to time,it's fun to get messy! There's no harm in it, if you are both healthy.

By the way, I go for checkups with my gynaecologist every 3 years to make sure I'm in good health below. Also, it's good to steer away from anal penetration - it hurts can cause IBS (irritable bowel sydrome) Done it, been there don't recommend it.

17 can i grow?

i already turned 17 on march and i have alot of leg hair and i have little facial hair when i shave it become prickly after a week

My brother was 5'6 or so in junior year and into his senior year hit 5'10. He just had his growth spurt very late. This was also surprizing because my dad is 5'5 and my mom is 5'0, so height is not readily avaiable in the gene pool.
On a side not he also got a pex, arms and six pack abs practically overnight... I was very angry at how we split our chromosomes. He went from waterboy to bench in one year (size didn't equate skill unfortunately).
Eat well, stay away from caffine, drugs, and alcohol, do excersies that involve more stretching and flexibility vice shock to you body (think yoga vice rugby).

Hmmm regarding the facial hair , if its normal moustache or beard you can shave or trim it . My bf generally trims because he gets sensitivity and pimples because of the blade used for shaving , as for facial hair , he prefers to pluck them with a tweezer because the hair on the cheeks if you trim or shave them then your cheek region turns green and it doesnt look good !! And as for your height , you might still gain some height till 20-22 -ish because by now most of your bones have ossified , but there is still cartilage left in some joints like the shoulder joint , hip joint , knee joint which ossify at 17-20 years . Try playing some basketball , but i cannot promise you that you will gain some height , my teachers in school used to tell us in 7th grade to put a dot with a pencil on top of the door and try jumping and trying to reach it , apparently it would increase the height but i havent tried it out , good luck :)
5'7 is slightly above average, be proud. your nearly done growing so its unlikely you'll grow much more naturally. there is leg extension surgery but i hear its very painful.

Question about depression?

I have never been diagnosed, but I feel like I'm stuck in a rut. No matter what kind of 'self' help I do, I am always sad, angry, and irritable. Sometime I have anxiety mixed in with it too. I just no got health insurace, so do I need to go see my physician first and she'll refer me or do they automatically prescribe you a bunch of meds? I don't want to be doped up. Thanks
As a person who has struggled with clinical depression all my life, I would strongly suggest you see a good psychiatrist NOT a general physician. Psychiatrists are physicians who specialize in psychology and can prescribe medications. My psychiatrist has an excellent knowledge of medications and found one (Paxil) that has worked for me for over 15 years. I take Paxil before I go to bed at night so I don't feel 'doped up' during the day

Your primary care doctor will most likely refer you to a psychiatrist instead of treating you themself. I know that they use to treat people more frequently themselves, but a doctor told me about a year ago that they got much stricter about that. It sounds like you may need an anti-depressant or something and now a days there are alot of different types of medicines. When you go to the doctor or psychiatrist be sure to express your concerns about not wanting to feel doped up and if they are a good, caring doctor they will take that into consideration when deciding what medicine would be best for you. And if they give you something that you end up not liking or having a problem with, don't just stop taking it or give up. Alot of those types of medicines take awhile to get the full benefit and even if you wait awhile and still do not get the rsults you want or get bad side effects, they can try a new medicine for you. It may take a few tries before you get what you want or need! Good luck!
If you're diagnosed with depression..they will give you an anti depressant. Probably Zoloft,or Prozac.

Neither of them make you feel doped up,at least not me. I took Zoloft for a year on and off when I was 11 for depression. (Keep in mind that sometimes anti depressants *can* increase thoughts of suicide)

You can either find a place that deals with depression and other mental illnesses or you can go to your doctor,either way will work..it is better than getting no help at all.
Would you rather have the depression and anxiety you are having now or give it at least a try on medication?
When diagnosed correctly and placed on the "Right" medications, you can feel much better.

First of all - the last thing you need, is someone telling you to snap out of it. If you are asking the question you are already part way to recovery. For myself, if I am feeling really low or even depressed, I try to take my mind off my feelings with music or try to busy myself. Try to remember- there is always someone worse off than yourself- and if you do reach "rock bottom" -then the only way is up. Sometimes a good book can be uplifting too-even if you have already read it before.
I really hope this helps- sometimes just talking to someone close is enough and not all doctors prescribe drugs- a good one might have another solution for you, or maybe decide that short term you do need medication.

antidepressants will not leave you feeling "doped up"...you might experience some weird side effects to begin with but they go away after a few weeks. Antidepressants really help...if you find the right one or a combination of them...They will give you energy, motivation, a reason to continue...and you might also be referred to a therapist to talk about what's bothering you...or to be taught how to change the way you think.
